About Leah Burman Associates
Leah Burman Associates are a team of educational and child psychologists with over 30 years’ experience.
An educational psychologist is trained in child development and aims to enhance a child’s learning and / or their social and emotional skills.
We use a range of techniques to put together a picture of a child’s strengths and areas of development and identify solutions and strategies to help children reach their potential.
We are qualified to work with children and young people (ages 0-25), their families, their nurseries, schools and colleagues.
We also work with local authorities and charities.

LEAH BURMAN
BSc. Hons, MSc CPsychol AFBPsS- Consulting Educational Psychologist
Leah has 39 years experience in Local Authority followed by private practice.
She has been a service manager for over ten years. She has also worked as an experienced school inspector accredited by the Office for Standards in Education and has taken part in inspections of main stream schools. She has published in national journals and has lectured at universities and conferences.
She is highly qualified with a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Leah is a Chartered Psychologist, Member of the Association of Educational Psychologists and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society
DEBBIE HAFFNER
PGCE BSc. Hons, MSc CPsychol- Lead Educational Psychologist
Debbie has been qualified since 2006 and has over ten years experience working in both private practice and local Authority.
Debbie has expertise working with children and young people from 0-25.
Her areas of specialism include special educational needs, behaviour, social and emotional difficulties in both mainstream and special schools, specific learning difficulties and autism spectrum needs.
She has provided many reports as an expert witness to Tribunals.
Beginning 2009, she completed two years of a six year doctorate at the University of Manchester. Her specific interest was parental participation in the Special Educational Needs and Disability reforms.
She is trained in administration and scoring of the Autistic Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS – 2).
Debbie is a Chartered Psychologist, Member of the Association of Educational Psychologists, the British Psychological Society and the Health Care Professionals Council.
